A cream cracker is a flat, usually square savoury biscuit. They are similar to a matzo although typically they are approximately 8 cm square. They are made from wheat flour and yeast, and are commonly served with cheese. They are highly popular in the United Kingdom. The most famous manufacturer of cream cracker is Jacob's, owned by United Biscuits. Each Jacob's cracker contains 34 kcal.

Typically, cheese is served on cream crackers; common combinations include Stilton, Cheddar and Brie, but many other cheeses are also accompanied with cream crackers according to taste.

[edit] Trivia

  • The Guinness Book of World Records states that Ambrose Mendy consumed three crackers in 34.78 seconds in 2005. Consuming three crackers in a short space of time is extremely difficult due to a lack of moisture.
  • Cream Cracker or 'Creamer' for short is also a slang term, using rhyming slang, in Ireland for Knacker, synonmous with Skanger.
  • The animated character Wallace always eats his cheese on Jacobs cream crackers (identifiable by their distinctive orange packaging).
