Cristian Osvaldo Álvarez is an Argentine football defender. He was born on January 9 1978, in Capital Federal, Buenos Aires Province in Argentina.
Álvarez began his career at Lanús in the Primera Division Argentina in 1998. He also had a short spell with Arsenal de Sarandí before moving to play in Spain with Racing Santander. He has also had loan spells with Spanish sides Córdoba CF and CD Tenerife.
