Crombie (brand)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Formed in 1805 in Scotland, Crombie produces high-end wool and tweed clothing.
In the late 1960s (or early 1970s), Crombie-style three-quarter-length wool overcoats became popular with the skinhead and suedehead subcultures in the United Kingdom — although few young working class people could afford the real thing (unless they were second hand). Skinheads and suedeheads often wore the coat over a suit; or an outfit made up of a button-up shirt and fitted jeans or Sta-Prest trousers. A common fashion accessory was a hankerchief (usually red or white) sticking out of the breast pocket.
