Curtis Price

Curtis Price KBE is the Principal of the Royal Academy of Music and a professor of music at the University of London. In 2005, Professor Price was made an honorary Knight Commander of the British Empire (KBE) in recognition of his services to music.

Price received his undergraduate musical training at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and completed his Ph.D. at Harvard University. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1981 to teach at King's College London, latterly as Head of Department. He has been Principal of the Royal Academy of Music since 1995, and was made a University of London Professor in 2000. He is a Trustee of Musica Britannica, the Handel House Museum and the National Sound Archive, and is a Governor of the Purcell School.
