Curtiss-Wright X-19 in flight

The Curtiss-Wright X-19 was designed as a 4 passenger VTOL transport originally, before the United States Air Force showed interest. Two prototypes were built, but only one ever flew before the program was cancelled because Curtiss-Wright saw no future in civil VTOL transport. One X-19 was destroyed in a crash, the other is believed to have been cut for scrap.
