Adam Goldstein (born March 30, 1973) is better known as club disc jockey DJ AM. He is known for unique way of mixing different types of music in his sets.

Goldstein dated socialite and reality TV star Nicole Richie. They were engaged on her birthday, September 21, 2004. The engagement was announced in early 2005. On December 7th, 2005, both he and Nicole called off the engagement.

Goldstein was also former member of the rock band, Crazy Town, known for their one hit wonder, "Butterfly".

He has also scratched on albums for Papa Roach, Madonna, Will Smith and Shifty as well as being a top DJ in USA. He is known as the DJ of the A-listers and has played private events for celebs like Jim Carrey, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Stiller, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, and Kate Hudson. When he is not playing private jobs for celebrities, he is playing at popular clubs in Los Angeles, NYC, Miami, Las Vegas and Pleasanton, CA. Goldstein admitted to past weight problems that ended with gastric bypass surgery. He has maintained his current weight for over two years and had surgery last year to get rid of some of the extra skin.

He is an owner of the popular club LAX and spins there on Sunday evenings.

  • Goldstein appeared on the Candid-Camera like show, known as Punk'd, where his former fiance, Nicole Richie, was the subject of a practical joke.
  • Goldstein also appeared on the third season of The Simple Life. Both DJ AM and Richie were engaged before the episode ended.
  • Goldstein appears as himself in the "What About Bob?" episode of Entourage's third season. He gets the last pair of an exclusive line of shoes (Fukijamas) available, right before Vince (Adrien Grenier) arive.

DJ AM reportedly charges anywhere from $20,000 USD to $25,000 USD for a 3hour dj gig in 2006. Industry insiders also reported that DJ AM was paid up to $1.000.000 by Las Vegas nightclub PURE inside Ceasers Hotel and Casino to play at the plush venue every Saturday for a duration of one year.
