Da Lench Mob were a rap group who first appeared on Ice Cube's debut album AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted. Da Lench Mob -- Shorty, J-Dee, and T-Bone -- struck out on their own, with Ice Cube as their executive producer, in 1992. Da Lench Mob's debut album, Guerillas In Tha Mist, was a fiery burst of political rap and trademark West Coast rhythms. The video for the album's lead single, also titled "Guerillas In Tha Mist", became quite popular in the fall of 1992. However, Da Lench Mob were frequently criticized for their lyrics in songs such as "Buck Tha Devil", which contain racist promotion of black-on-white violence (the term "devil" refers to a white person).

J-Dee was sentenced to life in prison for murder in 1993, and was dropped by the record label. J-Dee maintains his innocence of these charges. Instead of disbanding, an Oakland based rapper called Maulkie was bought in to replace J-Dee for the groups sophomore effort, Planet of da Apes, released in 1994. The group broke up very soon afterwards.

Their song "Guerillas In Tha Mist" was featured on the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas soundtrack, on the station Radio Los Santos.
