Dale Thomas (born 21 June 1987) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. He currently plays for the Collingwood Football Club.
A light build for an Australian rules footballer, Thomas is known for his spectacular marks, classy goals and exceptional kicking skills.

Thomas collected 20 disposals and kicked four goals in a best-on-ground performance in Gippsland Power’s TAC Cup premiership, and also won selection in the All-Australian under-18 side and the TAC Cup Team of the Year, prompting the Magpies to select him with their first pick, #2 overall, in the 2005 AFL Draft.

Thomas debuted in the AFL in round one of the 2006 AFL Season, in Collingwood's match against the Adelaide Crows. Thomas surprised the football world as he gathered 16 possessions and kicked two goals as a rookie of the top-level AFL. In Collingwood's round two win against Hawthorn, Thomas again performed, gathering twenty possessions and gaining nomination for the 2006 AFL Rising Star award.
Thomas first debuted for the Collingwood Magpies, he took the supporters by storm and now has many young fans around Australia.
During the 2006 ANZAC day match against Essendon, Thomas thrilled the massive crowd of over 90,000 people with outstanding nominations for both Mark of the Year and Goal of the Year.
On August 5, Thomas suffered an injury to his collarbone and may miss the rest of the 2006 AFL season [1].
On September 2, Thomas kicked four goals in the VFL for Williamstown in a 45 point win over the Northern Bullants in the 1st Qualifying Final.
Thomas played his 1st AFL Finals match on 10th September and took the Toyota Mark Of The Week to add to his collection of hangers.
On 28th September Dale performed on the Grand Final Footy Show with other Collingwood stars singing a church hymn at the start to a rising picture of Eddie McGuire, finishing off with some dancing.
Thomas was on the front cover Collingwood's Black & White magazine and stated in the article that he was overwhelmed at first by all the people that recognised him. He took some time off back home and came back refreshed and ready to wow the crowd yet again.
Dale's hard work all payed off at the end of the season when he won the Collingwood Harry Collier trophy for Best first year player in the 2006 season.
