From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Decatur Metropolitan Area is a large "separate but equal" part of the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. The MSA consists of Morgan and Lawrence Counties. The core city is Decatur, Alabama. The MSA is considered separate by the government but most people refer to the Huntsville Metro Area and Decatur Metro Area as a whole since they are in proximity to each other. The 2004 estimate population is 149, 629.
The only shopping mall in the metro area is the Colonial Mall Decatur in Decatur.
