Deep shaft piercing

A deep shaft piercing is a term used to describe piercings on a male that pass through the penile shaft. They are most commonly seen in the form of deeply placed ampallangs and apadravyas. They are more rare piercings due to pain, difficulty in piercing, excessive bleeding, and massive heal times. Common placement is directly behind the head of the penis, but they can be placed farther back.

These piercings pass horizontally through the shaft. A common myth with this piercing is that one should not hit the two corpora cavernosa which is basically impossible to do. It is commonly stated that hitting a corpus cavernosum results in excessive bleeding, but since the corpus cavernosum is impossible to miss, it is more likely that hitting one of the arteries in the center of the corpus cavernosum causes this bleeding. This piercing is recommended to be done while erect to avoid the chance of the piercing pinching when the penis is flaccid; unfortunately this practice leads to even more bleeding as all 3 chambers of the penis are gorged with blood while it is erect.

These piercings pass verticly through the shaft. If pierced properly it should pass between the two corpus cavernosums. It will however pass through the corpus spongiosum, causing bleeding.
