DEER was a band from Melbourne , Australia.

A collaboration of Neil Thomason (guitar) and Tom Jackman (drums).

The band played shows in Melbourne under that name and recorded a live session in Shed 11 of the now highly redeveloped Docklands area of Melbourne.

The fruits of this session was released by Warm Cola Recordings as a 6 track offering on tape and CD format in 1999.

Previously, Neil Thomason appeared in the following bands : Murray Cod Peace, Paint Stripper, Ricaine and a one off Melbourne Art Rock Collective performance at the Corner Hotel, Richmond, in which he played the lap steel guitar.

Previously, Tom Jackman appeared in the following bands : Slurper, Paint Stripper, Ricaine also a short-lived collaboration with Christbait guitarist Graig Westwood. He currently plays drums in the band Budd with Westwood on bass.

The band DEER has now broken up.
