Dicky Barrett

Dicky Barrett (born June 22, 1964 as Richard Michael Barrett) was the frontman of skacore band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island), Barrett attended Norwood Junior High School and Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Massachusetts. He was eventually expelled from Xaverian and moved on to Norwood Senior High School, and later Bunker Hill Community College in Boston. He also played in the bands Cheapskates and Impact Unit. Barrett married his wife Rosemary in 2002.
Dicky appeared on the track "Cash, Culture and Violence" on the Rancid album Life Won't Wait.
After the Bosstones had gone on hiatus he became an announcer on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live". He also hosted the "Mighty Morning Show" on Los Angeles radio's Indie 103.1 FM from 2005 until his firing on March 22, 2006. <ref>[1]</ref>. Barrett has also been no stranger to the Boston radio market where he has been a regular on all three of Boston's rock stations WAAF, WBCN, and WFNX.
In 2005, it was rumored in Boston, that Barrett would be Howard Stern's replacement at heritage rock station, WBCN. Barrett has been a guest on shows that featured jocks like Bradley J at WBCN and Carmelita at WAAF.
In the mid-1990s, he appeared as a bus driver on the Nickelodeon show "As the School Bus Turns."
In 2003 Barrett began working on an untitled solo album, with Lawerence Katz who had performed with Barrett as a member of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The album apparently is a radical departure from the ska-core Bosstones sound. Barrett was quoted as saying that the album will be "more somber, darker". <ref>[2]</ref> However there has been no further mention of the album, and the release date is uncertain.
Barrett has a cameo role in the film Home Of Phobia which was screened at the Sundance Film Festival. He has also done voiceover work for Minoriteam and appears in the documentary film American Hardcore.
