Dirt is an FX television series that will premiere on January 2 2007. The series will star Courteney Cox as Lucy Spiller, the editor-in-chief of two tabloid magazines. The character of Spiller is said to resemble Bonnie Fuller of Star Magazine.<ref name="MediaWeek">Nordyke, Kimberly. Cox Dishes Dirt for FX Pilot, The Hollywood Reporter, March 1, 2006.</ref> Ian Hart stars as Don, a schizophrenic photographer and Lucy's right-hand man. Will McCormack plays Lucy's brother Leo. FX has ordered a season of 13 one hour-long episodes. Series production began in September, 2006. The pilot was reshot to include a cameo by David Fincher and to add more of Courteney Cox's character.<ref name="Futon605">Final runs set for HBO's 'Deadwood',' FX's 'The Shield', The Futon Critic, June 5, 2006.</ref> Production on the original pilot began in Los Angeles in March, 2006. It was the ninth drama series pilot shot for FX. Matthew Carnahan, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette are serving as executive producers. Thea Mann is producing for Courteney Cox and David Arquette's Coquette Productions.
