Disparity
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Disparity refers to the difference in images from the left and right eye that the brain uses as a binoculars cue to determine depth or distance of an object.
The technique of disparity is also highly used in 3D-Computer Vision for computation of depth from two-dimensional images. The system behaves mainly like the human example. Two cameras take pictures of the same scene, but they are displaced by a certain distance - exactly like our eyes. The computer then computes the depth from these two pictures.
Disparity also refers to the regional and economic differences in a country, province, state, or continent
