The new fuel-injected Desmo L-Twin, 88 mm x 66 mm, 803 cc engine, and the new six-speed gearbox come together in the latest Supersport 800. It features an aluminium swingarm and a new advanced alloy clutch basket and discs. The two-valve per cylinder engine produces 74.5 hp @ 8250 rpm, and 70 Nm - 7,1 Kgm @ 6250 rpm. There is a choice of half fairing or full fairing versions.

Front forks are Marzocchi 43 mm upside-down units, and at the rear is a fully adjustable Sachs shock.

The 800SuperSport was introduced in 2003.
