Eclipse Aviation Corporation is an Albuquerque, New Mexico based manufacturer of the Eclipse 500 Very Light Jet (VLJ). Founded in 1998 by former Microsoft employee Vern Raburn, the company employs about 500 people with plans to double that number in 2007. Nearly 2,500 orders for the Eclipse 500 have been secured, with the first order belonging to Dave Crowe. The company plans to open facilities in New York and Florida. The facility in Florida is currently under construction at the Gainesville Regional Airport GNV.
