Egotism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Egotism is a state of human action in which a person acts to gain values in an amount greater than that of the values he/she gives to other persons. This is usually accomplished by exploiting the altruism, the irrationality, or the ignorance of other persons — or by using coercive force and/or fraud.
Egotism is a widely recognized action. Therefore, egotism differs from both altruism (acting to gain fewer values than are being given) and egoism (acting to gain and give an equal amount of values).
