An Electronic Press Kit (or EPK) is a press kit equivalent in electronic form. In business, electronic press kits are more commonly referred to as online or electronic media kits. Press kits help promote artists and businesses via mass media, and assist journalists in writing articles on the subject being promoted.

Contents of an EPK depend on the industry and target audience. For instance, an EPK in the music industry might contain:
- biographical & contact information
- monochromatic, high resolution, press photos (for easy reproduction)
- music clips (with accompanying lyrics)
- tour dates
- press reviews and interviews, etc.
- promotional videos
Contents of an online media kit for a business, being served from their company website, might include:
- A backgrounder on the company's history
- A fact sheet covering major points / products / services
- Biographical information on key executives
- Media contact information (usually a contact in public relations or an executive)
- A recent press release
- Past media coverage (press clippings, product reviews, etc.)
- High resolution photos or images of key executives, the company logo, products, etc.
