Elie
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Elie is a village in Fife, Scotland. It is directly adjacent to the village of Earlsferry and forms part of the East Neuk. Elie features several magnificent beaches, a lighthouse, and Lady's Tower, a folly once used by Lady Anstruther (C18th) as a dressing room. It is said that Lady Anstruther used to bathe in the waters next to Lady's Tower, a servant ringing a bell all the while to ensure locals stayed away. On Elie High Street is a fine church featuring an octagonal tower.
