Emerson String Quartet

The Emerson String Quartet is a renowned New York–based string quartet in residence at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Formed in 1976, they have released more than 20 albums and won six Grammy Awards.

- Philip Setzer (b. 1951), violin
- Lawrence Dutton (b. 1954), viola (since 1977, previously Guillermo Figueroa)
- David Finckel (b. 1951), cello (since 1979, previously Eric Wilson). Finckel frequently concertizes with his wife, pianist Wu Han.
Note: The two violinists frequently switch parts.
