The Emirate of Bukhara (Uzbek: Buxoro Amirligi) was the name of a Central Asian state that existed from 1747 to 1920. Its capital was the city Bukhara and in 1873 Bukhara became a Russian protectorate.[1]
It was created after the Khanate of Bukhara was conquered by Nadir Shah and was ruled by emirs of Manghit dynasty.
In 1920 the Emirate of Bukhara was conquered by the Bolsheviks and renamed the Bukharan People's Soviet Republic. Today the territory of the defunct emirate lies mostly in Uzbekistan, with parts in Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.de:Emirat Buchara es:Emirato de Bujara uz:Buxoro Amirligi
