Ensifer

ENSIFER (plural ENSIFERI) is a Latin word, meaning "carrier (or user) of a sword"

It has different meaning:

  1. in history, a member of the Livonian military order of the Schwertbrüder (German word, meaning Swordbrethren, but also rendered as Swordbearers)
  2. in microbiology, a genus of the bacterial family of Rhizobiaceae
