Epaphus

In Greek mythology, Epaphus, also called Apis, is the son of Zeus and Io. He was born in Euboea (Herodotus,Strabo) or according others in Egypt [citation needed]. . Epaphus is mostly known for founding the city of Memphis, Egypt. With his wife, Memphis, he had one daughter, Libya. Eventually he founded Epaphus, and they lived in Egypt where he founded the city of Memphis and then became Memphis' king.

Epaphus also criticized Phaeton's heraldry, which prompted him to undertake his fateful journey in his father Phoebus' chariot of the sun.
