Erik Möller

Erik Möller (born 1979) is a German freelance journalist, wiki enthusiast, software developer and author, and a board member of the Wikimedia Foundation. He was elected in September 2006 to replace Angela Beesley on the board, after Beesley resigned; in October 2006 he became executive secretary.

Möller, who lives in Berlin, holds a master degree in computer science (Diplom-Informatiker), and has been involved with the Wikimedia projects since 2001 both as a participant and as a developer of the MediaWiki software. His username is Eloquence. He has initiated two of Wikimedia's projects, the Wikimedia Commons and the Wikinews. He was appointed the chief research officer of the Wikimedia Foundation in June 2005 but resigned in August 2005 citing personal differences with members of the board [1].

He has published the book Die heimliche Medienrevolution - Wie Weblogs, Wikis und freie Software die Welt verändern (2004; "The secret media revolution: How weblogs, wikis and free software change the world").
