Essen-Werden

In 1910, Werden, Prussia was a town with 11,741 residents located 17 miles (27 km) northeast of Düsseldorf on the Ruhr. Johann Julius Hecker was born there in 1707. Werden became a borough of Essen, Germany in 1929.
