Esslingen is a village in the municipality of Egg, Switzerland, in the canton of Zürich. It is located approximately 15 km southeast of Zürich. In the local dialect it is called Esslinge.
The population is 1565 (as of 2006). A monument commemorating World War II is located at Forch, a hill which also a popular recreation area for the people of Zürich.
The town centre of Zürich is connected to Esslingen with a special tramway — the Forchbahn.
Esslingen is connected by the A52 motorroad to Zumikon and Hinwil.
