Esslingen University of Applied Sciences

The Esslingen University of Applied Sciences or Hochschule Esslingen (formerly 2006: Hochschule für Technik (FHTE) und Hochschule für Sozialwesen (HfS)) is a University of applied sciences in Esslingen am Neckar, Germany.

- In 1868, a department for training mechanical engineers was set up in Stuttgart at the Königlich-Württembergischen Baugewerkeschule - the royal Württemberg school for construction. In 1914 the royal Württemberg construction school relocated to Esslingen, and with it around 600 young students. This became the foundation for what is today the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences.
- In 1998, the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences offered the first master's degree course in English and founded the faculty "Graduate School". The Graduate School now runs and organises three post-graduate study programmes (MBA and MSc).
- Starting the 1st October 2006, the Esslingen Universities of Applied Sciences of Technology and Social Work were merged and are now a single entity known as HOCHSCHULE ESSLINGEN (German) The english name of the university is the same. The Esslingen University of Applied Sciences has 10 faculties, 20 bachelor study programs and 10 master programs.
