The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2007 will be held in South Korea. For this edition, the number of teams has been expanded from 16 to 24. Also, from now on the confederation which produced the last champion will have an extra spot in qualifying. <ref>http://www.fifa.com/en/media/index/0,1369,115830,00.html</ref> For 2007, that will be CONCACAF.

Players born after 1 January 1990 can participate in this tournament.
