Félicien-César David (April 13 1810– August 29 1876) was a French composer, born at Vaucluse.
David was the author, among other compositions, of Le Désert , an oratorio which achieved an instant and complete triumph. In his youth he was an ardent disciple of St. Simon. He died at Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
