Furnace (or Welsh Ffwrnes) is a village and an area of the town of Llanelli in the county of Carmarthenshire, Wales<ref name="footnote_1">Carmarthenshire County Council: Area and density of Community Wards</ref>. Furnace is named after the furnace built by Alexander Raby before the village was actually established. The main furnace still remains and is open to the public as a local heritage site<ref name="footnote_2">Llanelli Community Heritage on Furnace and its furnace.</ref>.
It is under the authority of Carmarthenshire County Council and Llanelli Rural Council<ref name="footnote_3">Llanelli Rural Council</ref>.
