G400
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The G400(or G-400) is an Epiphone electric guitar model that is an economic version of the Gibson SG. It resembles a 1961 Gibson SG. It is available in 3 finishes: worn cherry, brown, and ebony. New models now have Grover tuners.

[edit] Features
Pickups - 2 Alnico Classic magnets designed by Epiphone USA. They have chrome covers.
Inlays - trapezoid.
Hardware - chrome.
Neck joint - set.
Wood Type - mahogany.
It is available in many models, including G-400, Deluxe, Custom, Vintage '61 reissue, Tony Iommi Signature and Gothic.
[edit] Custom
The custom is only available in white and has three humbucking pickups. It says Les Paul on it at the headstock and between the neck and neck pickup. It has exact specifications to the original Gibson SG Custom (apart from pickups) and the only difference in appearance is the shape of the headstock.
[edit] Tony Iommi Signature
The Tony Iommi signature is the custom guitar for Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi. It is similar to the Gothic SG (see below), except it has crucifix inlays and Gibson Tony Iommi signature pickups. Also, unlike other G-400 models, the strap holder is on the horns and not at the neck joint.
[edit] Gothic
Epiphone has a Gothic range. Models in this range are the Explorer, G-400, Les Paul Studio, Flying V and Thunderbird.
The G-400 Gothic has open-coil humbuckers (unlike other G-400s that have chrome covers), black hardware, body, and pickguard, and a 12 in Roman numerals at the 12th fret.
[edit] USA
There is also a USA-made G-400 available. This model has a slightly different shaped headstock as opposed to other G-400s and most electric Epiphones.
[edit] G-310
The G-310 is a cheaper version with a bolt-on neck, cheaper pickups (without chrome covers), dot inlays, and produced in Indonesia, as opposed to China and/or Korea like the G-400. It is available in ebony, red, and white. It also lacks the Grover tuners of recent production G-400s.
