Geeklog

Geeklog is a PHP/MySQL based application for managing dynamic web content.
"Out of the box", it is a blog engine, CMS or Web Portal with support for comments, trackbacks, multiple syndication formats, spam protection, and all the other vital features of such a system.
The core Geeklog distribution can easily be extended by the many community developed plugins to radically alter its functionality. Available plugins include forums, image galleries, and many more.

[edit] Security Model
One of the key strengths of Geeklog is the User Rights Management system. You may assign read and edit rights to a given group of users. Each user may in turn be part of any group, and groups may inherit rights from other groups. This creates a web of rights which can fulfill the requirements of an international corporate intranet site or an interwoven community of web-users.
[edit] Stability
Geeklog focuses on high quality, reverse compatible releases. Releases do not break APIs and features used by third party plugins except under extreme conditions. Plugins written against early versions of Geeklog will mostly still interoperate with new versions. The major exception to this is the Comment API, which was radically refactored as part of the Geeklog 1.4.0 release.
Some changes to the Geeklog system may require a site administrator to update their theme to take advantage of the new features, however, mostly changes to Geeklog won't affect a sites theme.

Geeklog was initially written to host a security website, and as such a key focus for the developers has been the security of the application. Geeklog exploits have been found, but, in general are rare, of low severity and are responded to rapidly by the development team. The team maintains security releases to the current and previous version of Geeklog as well as securing the development trunk. This means when a security issue is found, site administrators only need to patch their site, not upgrade to a new version.

Geeklog also allows new functionality to be added to it in the form of plugins. Certain plugins come pre-installed: Static Pages (as opposed to news articles) and a spam-filter for the comment system. Other plugins allow you to collect usage statistics on your site, add a section on the page to show the weather, or display images from your photo gallery, for example. Most of the plugins developed by the Geeklog community are FOSS so they are available for free and you may modify them to fit your needs.

The current version is 1.4.0sr5. Development on the 1.4 branch is very active while version 2.0 is being developed from scratch.
