George D. Chryssides

Dr George D. Chryssides is the senior lecturer and Head of Religious Studies at the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences of the University of Wolverhampton.

Chryssides holds a M.A. in Philosophy and a B.D. in Systematic Theology from the University of Glasgow and a D.Phil. in Philosophy of Religion from the University of Oxford. He has a particular interest in new religious movements, on which he has published extensively.

In November 2003, Chryssides made the national British press when a postman accused him of "negligence" for having posted too many letters (containing academic journals) in a University postbox. <ref> http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2003/12/20/npost20.xml Postman sues customer who sent 'too many' letters, The Telegraph, December 20, 2003</ref>
