A number of separate systems of government exist or have existed in Northern Ireland.
- The Executive Committee of the Privy Council of Northern Ireland (1922-1972)
- The Executive Committee under the Sunningdale Agreement (1973-1974)
- The Executive Committee under the First Minister and Deputy First Minister, created in the Belfast Agreement (1998. Intermittently in existence)
- The ministers governing Northern Ireland under the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland
