Granny panties is a nickname for women's briefs made in a full-cut style rather than a bikini or high-cut style. Some people associate this style of underwear with social conservatism or older women (hence the name), but many women wear this style of underwear for reasons of comfort or to achieve a smoother line (without a panty line) under their slacks.

Rather than granny panties, manufacturers and advertisers prefer the terms Full Cut Brief, Full Brief or Deep Brief. The term granny panties is probably of US origin, in Australia the term granny undies is used. In addition to wearing this style of undies, grandmothers give these undies as presents to grand-daughters.

In addition to the traditional plain white or skintone cotton, briefs are available in a similar range of colours and fabrics as other women's underwear styles, including spandex, satin, stretch lace, and the like. Although granny panties are uncool with today's youth, the fabrics of the panties have been progressively getting lighter from decade to decade.

A key characteristic of granny panties is the high waistline, i.e., just under the navel or covering the navel. Another common feature is elasticised leg bands of substantial width, referred to as "bound leg" or "comfort band legs" on the packaging. The crotch or gusset (the lower part part of the garment covering the vulva) of granny panties is typically a double layer of material that appears bulky when compared to a bikini style. While the double gusset is effective for the attachment of a self-adhesive sanitary napkin during menstruation, the extra width and bulk of the gusset may droop or bunch up particularly as the panties stretch after repeated washing.

Popular culture has seen granny panties on Marilyn Monroe and in various movies and cartoons like The Simpsons, Magical DoReMi, Bridget Jones's Diary. The media has popularised granny panties as being worn by elderly ladies, housewives and little girls.
