Haidar al-Abbadi

Haider al-Abbadi (Arabic: حيدر العبّادي) is an Iraqi politician and spokesman for the Islamic Call Party.
He was appointed Minister of Communications in the Iraqi Governing Council on 2003-09-01. A Shia Muslim and electrical engineer by training, al-Abbadi is half-Lebanese and lived in exile duing the time of Saddam Husein in London.
He was alleged to have profitted from a deal with Orascom, an Egyptian company listed on the London Stock Exchange that was awarded a mobile phone network contract in 2003.
