Heavens

Heavens is a alternative rock band featuring Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio and Josiah Steinbrick formerly of F-Minus. Steinbrick plays guitar, bass, electric piano and creates soundscapes in the band, while Skiba sings. The duo signed to Epitaph Records and released their debut album, Patent Pending, on 12 September 2006.

Skiba has said, "With Alkaline I'm usually thinking Ramones and Misfits; but Joe is such an incredibly talented, imaginative player, that he built this foundation that let me feel like I could sing low in my register and let the influences of the Sisters Of Mercy come out of me."

Heavens are getting compared to artists such as Brian Eno and Wire, while Skiba's vocals in this project are similar to that of Paul Banks of Interpol and Ian Curtis of Joy Division.
