Heer

Heer [IPA: heɐ] is German for "army". Generally, it's not restricted to any particular country, so "das britische Heer" would mean "the British army". However, more specifically it can refer to:
- The German Army, the Heer — part of the Bundeswehr (or Reichswehr, or Wehrmacht during different historical periods of Germany).
- The Austrian Army, the Österreichisches Bundesheer.
- The Swiss army, the Bundesheer.
- The army of the German Confederation in the 19th century.
