Helena Rubinstein

Helena Rubinstein (December 25, 1872 Krakau, Austria-Hungary (now Poland) - April 1, 1965 New York, USA) was a Polish-American cosmetics industrialist. She was the founder and eponym of Helena Rubinstein, Incorporated, which made her one of the world's richest women.
At the age of 18, she moved to Australia, where she mixed medical formulas and ointments. In 1902, she opened the world's first beauty salon in Melbourne. In 1908, she opened a beauty salon in London, another in Paris in 1912 and a third in New York City in 1914. Starting in 1917, Rubinstein took on the manufacturing and wholesale distribution of her products.
