Heller (money)

The heller, or haller was a German coin valued at half a pfennig named after city of Hall (today Schwäbisch Hall). The coin was produced beginning in the 13th century as silver pfennig (Häller Pfennig). Heller was also the term for 1/100 of the Austro-Hungarian krone, the currency of Austria-Hungary from 1892 until after the demise of the Empire.
