Hemingray

Image:Hemi42aqua.jpg Hemingray was an American glass company famous for its collectable insulators. The company was founded by Robert Hemingray and Ralph Gray in 1848. Over time the company has had different names such as Gray, Hemingray and Bros., H.G. Co. and R. Hemingray Co. The Hemingray company had factories in Cincinnati, Ohio, Covington, Kentucky, and Muncie, Indiana It also produced a variety of other glass objects, some now also sought after. In 1933, the company was sold to the Owens-Illinois Co. A large body of factual information about the complex history of Hemingray is available on the web.
