[edit] Ship History
- The Carnival Holiday was placed in service in 1985. It is the smallest ship that is currently still in the fleet, any other smaller ships have either been decommissioned or sold off to another cruise line. The ship wasn’t in very good condition before the year of 2003, but shortly after that it was sent into the dry docks and renovated. Also, during Hurricane Katrina (2005) the ship was used as temporary housing for victims of the storm. After leaving Mississippi it was sent to the dry docks for 3 weeks and renovated again. It is now better than ever! New carpet, plumbing, and work to the propellers was done among many other things that were installed. Now the holiday is back to its normal route from Mobile, AL and doesn’t look like its going be put to rest anytime soon.
