Hoogland

Hoogland is a village located north of the city of Amersfoort. Since 1974, Hoogland has been a part of the municipality of Amersfoort. Hoogland is famous for its unique Carnival and annual village festival.

Hoogland was also the native place of Henricus van de Wetering, former Archbishop of Utrecht.

[edit] Village festival

The village festival is named ( dorpsfeest ). It is held to celebrate the beginning of a new year, this is done with a lot of beer and dancing. Also, there are some horse drive shows.
