Hoover's
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hoover's, Inc. is a business research company that has provided information on U.S. companies and industries since 1990, originally only in print form, but since 1993 has also made the information available on its website www.hoovers.com.
Originally started by the Austin, Texas-based entrepreneur Gary Hoover, who also founded Bookstop (which later became the kernel of Barnes & Noble Superstores), it now is a subsidiary of Dun & Bradstreet, and has a database of 18 million companies and an editorial staff of more than 90 editors. After a few failures to establish a foothold in Europe, in 2004 the latest incarnation of Hoover's UK was launched.
The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas.
