HurriQuake
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The HurriQuake is a newly invented nail designed by Ed Sutt for Bostitch, a division of Stanley Works. Its primary feature is its higher ability to minimalize damage to buildings from hurricanes and earthquakes. A larger nail head makes the nail more resistant to tearing through wood while a number of "rings" at the first half of the nail makes the nail more resistant to being ripped out.
It won the Popular Science Best of What's New 2006 award for Home Technology.<ref>"Popular Science "Best of What's New" 2006</ref>
