Unusually, the Loadstar-based rendition is only capable of seating two, while the MC-9-based rendition is capable of seating a larger number of passengers. GTA III's Flatbed is a basic version of the game's Barrack OL military truck (which is in turn based on the Bulldog M923 truck), and as such, assumes the same body (with an open top cab) and color (dark green) of the Barracks OL; renditions in GTA:VC, GTA:SA, GTA:LCS and GTA:VCS include a closed-top cab and a more flexible selection of body colors. London 1969's rendition assumes a cab over design.

The Securicar's name is also similar to that of the real life Securicor company. The "GRUPPE Sechs" logo printed on the sides of the truck, but obscured by German wording, obviously refers to group sex, or gang-banging (group sex in German is Gruppe Geschlecht, or Gruppensex and is sometimes pronounced Gruppe sechs).

An image of the Landstalker (which is available to the player in the game whereas no vehicle by the name of Maibatsu is) is displayed in the classifieds section of GTA III's instruction manual to represent the Maibatsu Monstrosity. Another advertisement of the vehicle found in the online Liberty Tree website depicts the Monstrosity as a monster truck. The name of the vehicle is an obvious parody of the real-life Daihatsu Midget.

The only notable exception to this is the GTA:LCS rendition, which is fashioned to resemble that of the New York City Police Department during the 1990s [2] (save the use of black instead of NYPD's blue color). The idea of this design was originally considered in GTA III, but was changed during development to black-and-white a panda paint scheme in response to the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York City. Image:GTAIII PC vehicles Dodo.jpg Image:GTASA PC vehicles Cropduster.jpg
  • Andromada — SA (Available only through use of GameShark, Action Replay or other game modification tools.)
a large cargo aircraft that resembles a C-141 Starlifter. It is one of the largest controllable vehicles in the GTA series, but is slightly smaller than the AT-400 airliner. It can also be obtained without a cheat device in GTA:SA on the mission "Stowaway",[citation needed] for Mike Toreno, but is not know to be obtained by other standard means.
  • AT-400 — SA

Image:AT400Jet.jpg

a large jet-powered airliner that resembles a Boeing 737. It is the largest controllable vehicle in the GTA series, but only one of them is available in GTA:SA, found within a large hangar in the Las Venturas. The height of the AT-400's door from the ground also means that the player could only access the aircraft through a separate stairway or platform, the only vehicle in the series to possess such a quality. The AT-400 also serves as the player's automated air transport in GTA:SA for paid trips between San Andreas' airports.
  • Beagle — SA
a light twin-propeller aircraft resembling a Britten-Norman Islander, although the nose of the Beagle is significantly blunter than the Islander.
  • Cropduster — SA

A double-winged propeller plane, with a size around the same as a Dodo's. The Biplane is comparable to the Stuntplane.

a V/STOL jet fighter aircraft that resembles the Boeing/BAE AV-8B Harrier II, but with a ventral air intake like an F-16 Fighting Falcon or Eurofighter Typhoon. The Hydra is the most sophisticated airplane in the GTA series; in addition to both interchangeable vertical and standard flight (powered by four adjustable jet outlets), the fighter aircraft also features missile launchers as well as a targeting system for the weapons, and countermeasures launched from its belly.
  • Nevada — SA
a twin-propeller airliner that resembles a Douglas DC-2 or DC-3.
  • Rustler — SA

a business jet that resembles a Bombardier Lear Jet, but includes wings similar to that of a Gulfstream G500.

Image:GTASA PC vehicles Nevada.jpg

  • Skimmer — VC, SA, VCS
a seaplane and essentially a Dodo on twin pontoon floats. This could be seen as unusual, because this configuration is very rare due to the impracticality of mounting heavy floats onto such a light aircraft.
  • Stuntplane — SA
an aerobatics biplane that resembles a Pitts Special.

[edit] Helicopters

Image:GTAVC PC vehicles Maverick.jpg

  • Air Ambulance — VCS
  • Armadillo — VCS

Image:GTASA PC vehicles Leviathan.jpg Image:GTASA PC vehicles Raindance.jpg
  • News Chopper — SA
a compact, two-door news helicopter bearing "SAN News" markings, based on the Maverick.
  • Raindance — SA
resembles a Sikorsky S-70/H-60. The Raindance is most likely an inspired by the commercial S-70A Firehawk variation of the S-70 given it is a fire department aircraft. As the Raindance is based on both helicopters, it also resembles the military Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk.
  • Police Maverick — VC, SA, LCS, VCS
a police variation of the Maverick, with a player-usable searchlight in GTA:SA. The helicopter is only available in GTA:LCS via the use of cheating tools, while GTA:VCS features two variations of the chopper: The standard gold-olive and white version, and a green and white with some differences in the body design; the latter is available only via cheating tools.

Image:GTAVC PC vehicles Hunter.jpg

Engines of all watercrafts may be propeller or jet powered.

  • Cuban Jetmax (aka Jetmax in SA and VCS) — VC, SA, VCS

usable, capable of transporting small vehicles and pedestrians. However, as is the subway and elevated Trains in the city, the ships cannot be stolen.
  • Ghost (aka Ghost MISSING, in the PS2 version) — 3
resembles a Predator, but is available in blue (PS2) or black (PC) and has no machine gun installed. As there were no textures used on the body of the boat, only a single solid color was used. The Ghost appears in only one mission: "Gone Fishing". The player was never intended to use the boat, as the only way to acquire it is to chase the boat around until it beaches, from which the vehicle's driver bails on foot.

  • Tropic — VC, SA
a cabin cruiser.
  • Violator — VCS
  • Yola — VCS
