International Mother Language Day
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
February 21 was proclaimed the International Mother Language Day by UNESCO in November 17, 1999.
The International Mother Language Day is observed yearly in UNESCO member states and at its headquarters to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
This is mostly the international recognition of Language Movement Day, which is commemorated in Bangladesh since 1952, when many Bengali-speaking people were massacred by the Pakistani police and Army in Dhaka.
