Izano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cremona in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 45 km southeast of Milan and about 35 km northwest of Cremona. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,862 and an area of 6.3 km2.<ref name="istat">All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.</ref>
Izano borders the following municipalities: Castelleone, Crema, Fiesco, Madignano, Offanengo, Romanengo, Salvirola.

The history of Izano has been always connected to that of the near and more powerful Crema. The first documents mentioning Izano (as Giosano) dates from the late 10th century. Later it was probably under the suzerainty of the bishopric of Cremona. Later Izano was a possession of Crema until, in the late 15th century, it was conquered by the Republic of Venice.
The countryside of Izano has also several patrician villas built by the Venetian noblemen, mainly in the 17 the century. The most noteworthy is Villa Severgnini.
