Jamdani is a kind of fine cloth made in Bangladesh. Though mostly used for saris, Jamdani is also used for scarves, handkerchiefs etc. Jamdani is believed to be a fusion of the ancient cloth-making techniques of Bengal (perhaps 2000 years old) with the Middle Eastern influence of muslin brought by the Muslims starting from the 1300s.
