Jeremy Zawodny

Jeremy Zawodny is currently an employee of Yahoo! in the platform engineering group. He has been described as "Yahoo!'s MySQL geek" and is seen outside the company as one of the key proponents of open-source software within Yahoo!.[edit] Work at Yahoo!
Jeremy's Yahoo! career started with the high-traffic Yahoo! Finance site, where he integrated MySQL into the large batch operations of the site's infrastructure, real-time feed processing, and site content display.
He is considered internally and externally to be Yahoo!'s MySQL resident guru. He has also worked as an evangelist on the "influencer marketing" team in Yahoo! Search and helped to launch the Yahoo! Search blog. He is now part of Yahoo! Search’s newly formed Technology Development team.

Jeremy spent three years at Marathon Oil in Findlay, Ohio building infrastructure and applications for their corporate Intranet before coming to Yahoo!.
Jeremy Zawodny also writes a monthly column for Linux Magazine and speaks at numerous conferences about MySQL, Yahoo!, and open source.
He is also the author of High Performance MySQL (ISBN 0-596-00306-4) and holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University.
Jeremy is also known to be one of the inventors of podcasting.
